These are wonderful tests and a financial God-send. I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), which means I normally don’t ovulate – hence becoming pregnant is difficult. Having the information from these strips was great for our “trying to conceive” journey, both for us and for our doctor. But also, having to use these for more than 9 months before we finally did conceive, the difference in cost between these and what is available in stores was wonderful. I knew we were in this for the long haul, and I’m so glad I found these strips before we actually began to try.

I used them for about 15-20 days of each cycle for nine months, never seeing an actual positive result. I admit, I did wonder whether they actually worked or not. But after three months of metformin (glucophage), my body regulated and ovulated, and these tests detected it. There was no question – I had a positive test. And two weeks later, a positive pregnancy test. I absolutely recommend these strips. I ovulated on day 25 – much later than you’d usually think ovulation would happen. Thanks to these tests, I knew.

No, they don’t come in frilly packaging. And yes, I was shocked at first at how it just came in a manila envelope, no instructions. But the tests are individually packaged and sterile. Paying for the frills just isn’t worth it to me – I’d rather save that money to buy the baby something! Plus, I prefer the “pee in a cup and dip” method to the midstream tests – somehow I managed to complete nine months of never peeing on myself while peeing in a cup, but when I try one of those midstream things, it goes everywhere.[...]

I just received my order. The strips are individually packaged in sealed foiled packages. The plastic wrap is only used to hold together the sealed packages, not the individual strips. The strips are tiny, slightly larger than a matchstick. Keep in mind that these are dipping strips, not mid-stream strips, so you’ll need a cup to capture your urine.

The instructions were e-mailed to me promptly when the package was mailed, so I had them a week before I received the actual strips. They ship from Canada, so it can take up to a week to get to the US.

I’ve only used one strip so far, and it worked exactly as it should. I’m very satisfied with my purchase and I’d buy these again.

Hi. I bought a set of 50 a month ago. Each came in an unmarked envelope, and the 50 packets were sent wrapped up in saran wrap. No instructions, no box…basically, nothing except an unmarked manilla envelope, 50 unmarked packets and some saran wrap. Very weird. But it gets better…I was testing daily, and couldn’t get even a negative reading on ANY of the strips I tested. One line for negative, two for positive…mine turned pink BEHIND the arrow showing where the marks should be..but never where the marks should be. I have used 30 of them by now…and not a single one worked yet. At a certain point, I gave up and bought the Clearblue strips…and then when I tested positive on the LH strips, tried again with these generic ones…but they STILL didn’t work. There wasn’t even a piece of paper included in the packet to tell me where to return them or complain to. Basically $30 down the drain/oh well.

  4. I started using these “stupid strips” about 6-8 months ago and could not get a positive result for anything! The test line would get darker during the month but still only about 1/2 the shade of the control line. I thought it was due to the strips not working. Come to find out, after consulting my doctor, I found out that I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), which means that I don’t ovulate normally, only about once every 3-5 months. My doctor put me on Clomid to “trick” my body into ovulating and after adjusting the dosage the lab test showed I ovulated on the 2nd month but not pregnant. So I pulled the strips back out and figured, what the heck, what do I have to loose?! So I started testing again at home to try and find my exact ovulatioin date. There it was, on day 17 of the 3 month on Clomid, I got a positive result (a positive result was more than obvious. I think my line was darker than the control)!! So I read the directions (which were included in the pack and that I had printed off the companies web-site like it told me to do- [...] to have intercourse after 24 hours of testing positive but before 48 hours. So today, day 32 of my cycle, I took a test (actually 2 tests) and PREGNANT! Without these strips we may have missed our window of opportunity! I wish everyone the best and hope you get the same great results I did! I will NEVER call these strips “stupid” again and will be buying more in the future if we decide to have a second child. 100% recommended! If you don’t get a positive result, you might want to consult your doctor to do lab work to make sure you’re ovulating. Don’t automatically assume the strips don’t work because they do!

Like others said the instructions are vague on the packets.

I have gone through 30 now in 2 months and not a single one ever worked. All I get is an ‘invalid’. Although cheap, this product is actually WORTHLESS.
