I am so glad a product like this is finally available. In 2006 I contracted toe nail fungus. At the time I was advised by my doctor to take heavy medication to solve the issue. For more than two years I battled the fungus. Whenever I thought the fungus was gone it came back shortly after I stopped taking medication. I tried a lot of other things on top of medication (including buying several pair of new, clean shoes). In 2009 I finally decided to try the new laser treatments available for toe nail fungus. This seemed pricey at the time but also much better for the body. Long story short, the laser took care of the fungus. The person doing the laser treatment advised me to also buy the Sterishoe to prevent re-infection. Sterishoe has worked perfectly for me. It is such a great and simple idea that I wonder why I didn’t stumble upon it before. I have now been fungus free for over 8 month. When I saw this on Amazon today I bought a Sterishoe for my sister.

I bought this product last month to sanitize the inside of my shoes. At the end of a work day my shoes are moist and sweaty. Over time I had to spray and clean my shoes to prevent odor. With the Sterishoe I just use the shoe tree and press a button. It takes 5 seconds. The device shuts off automatically once the shoes are sanitized. This is the best thing I have come across in a long time. Totally worth the money. No more visits to the doctor, no more offending people, no more embarassment at taking off my shoes on flights. I’m a happy camper. Thank you SteriShoe!

I got one of these from my podiatrist to help with a toenail fungus and quickly learned that it deodorizes shoes too. My shoes were never particularly stinky, but after the SteriShoe is used, it is like they are new! You can put your nose right in your shoe and smell only the leather.
The Steri-Shoe must compress (like a shoe tree does) in order to activate and it needs to be in the dark as well. They include a couple of shoe bags to insert your shoes in so it will be dark, but I just lay a doubled up towel over the shoes and that is easier to do quickly. Getting the device to compress with a pair of backless shoes is a challenge, but you can manage it if you fiddle around with it. I prop my shoes against the legs of my nightstand and tip the toes up at an angle with a blanket shoved up against the toes to push the heels back against the nightstand. Then I drape some of the blanket over the toes and voila! It works!
Well worth the expense. It works exactly as they say.

Very easy to use… it takes just a few minutes to set these up in your shoes, then 45 minutes to zap the germs that cause odor and protect from foot infection. I recommend ordering here at Amazon because the company’s website charges more to ship. I could find no better price for this cool device anywhere, nor could I find a comparable product. The directions say that the ultra-violet bulbs last about 2 years after which they must be replaced (about $12 each + shipping). I hope the company will sell the replacement bulbs on Amazon when the time comes.
So this is the best way to protect your feet from re-catching foot fungus through the spores that are left dormant in your shoes. The alternative is to use chemical sprays or discard your shoes. The price seems a bit high, but frankly, they provide peace of mind and are worth it. Note: The photo oddly shoes 3 devices, but the order comes with two.

I discovered this innovative shoe cleaner at my brother’s house. My brother lives in San Francisco but our family is from Europe. The Sterishoe was recommended to him by some sort of foot care professional. When I tried this on my shoes after walking around in the city all day I couldn’t believe how well it works. My leather shoes smell nicer and they don’t feel sticky anymore. The product is not very cheap in my view but I still thought it was a no-brainer. I bought my own on at the end of my trip and took it back to Germany. If you are from Europe you have to know that the Sterishoe power supply does not work with 220V. I hooked mine up using cheap transformer that I had flying around and it works great. I don’t understand why it always seems to take month or years for cool products from the US to hit the European market. If the Sterishoe people read this I hope you know that there is 400 million people in Europe.
